Raquel de Castro Maia has over 18 years’ commercial photographic experience. A formal degree followed by apprenticeships with top national photographers and film makers she has laid a strong foundation for her work. By continually pushing the boundaries in terms of her personal skill set and technical prowess Raquel has worked extensively in studio environments as well as spending a lot of time on location working with a combination of natural light, flash and portable flash lighting to capture editorial, architectural, interior and travel Photography.
Raquel De Castro Maia is a member of the Professional Photographers of South Africa as well as the Nikon’s Professional Photography technical support program. Producing personal portfolios of travel documentary, landscape and botanical photography her work has been included in the Cape Town month of photography, as well as being included in group in the well know Cape Gallery in Cape Town.
Although we are always open to new photographic projects and experiences, Raquel focuses particularly on Architecture, Interiors, Editorial, Environment, Travel, Food and Product photography.
More than anything we love taking pictures, and enjoy the challenge and the research involved in documenting a new place! Whether for, portrait or lifestyle, corporate, advertising, in-depth editorial, or travel documentaries, we can coordinate your commission – from start to final creative. Raquel is experienced in conceptualising a photographic commission and translating it into marketing or documentary materials such as brochures, websites and travel books.
